A true story of what happened to Terry & Anne on trying to enter
Disney World in Orlando Christmas Day 2001

Terry recalls how he went with normal Disney tickets to Walt Disney World on Christmas Day 2001, at about 11:30 a.m. By getting there at this time Terry & Anne thought they would have plenty of time to get in before the place filled up. He got as far as the car park, but the attendant tried to direct Terry out of the car park. The attendant told Terry that Walt Disney World was full and they were not letting any more people in. The tickets had to be used at another park, either MGM, Animal Kingdom or Epcot. They could be used sometime in the future but they wanted to go out on Christmas Day.

After being forced to leave (as the whole area was conned off) Terry went back the next day and complained to the staff at both the ticket office, and the guest services office. He asked them to reinburse him for another day as he had been left with no choice but to use the ticket at another park. He had not been able to use the ticket at the park of his choice on Christmas Day. Terry recalls them telling him that there was nothing they could do for him on this occasion.

Terry feels that if he would have left earlier to get to the park at 10:00, when they open, he would have been allowed in. From this experience he wants everyone to be aware of the need to leave early to get into Disney World on Christmas Day. If you know this then he feels that you can also pass such information on to your renters providing them with a better service. Terry's final comment on all this is that he is pleased he did not have any children with him at that time.
